A writer introducing new worlds to the same ol’ formulas, Hallie's a crafter of timeless stories, who holds truth of the human condition paramount, and folds progressive content into accessible, commercial genre spaces. When not writing, you can often find her at the beach with friends, swimming laps at the local pool or enjoying the sunset with a dram of peaty scotch and dark chocolate. Always searching for new stories, her love of travel has most recently taken her to Thailand, Ireland and Scotland-- the later fulfilling a dream of tasting her favorite whiskies at the source.
Hallie served as executive story editor on Amazon’s critically acclaimed series, THE EXPANSE. She also co-wrote the tie-in graphic novels, THE EXPANSE: ORIGINS. She loves the creative collaboration of a writer's room and brings a bright energy and dedication with her. Hallie was able to be the on-set writer for her written episodes of THE EXPANSE, exposing her, hands on, to all facets of television production. She is currently in development on a couple television pilots, freelances as a script consultant, and is available and searching for her next television staffing/writing position.
Hallie grew up in a haunted house on a farm in the Pacific Northwest. When she wasn’t exploring the woods and getting lost in the pages of her own imagination, she spent her Saturdays volunteering at the local animal shelter and playing the violin in the youth symphony. Writing since she could pick up a crayon-- and attempting to sell those stories at the local farmers market by the age of 7-- Hallie eventually became editor-in-chief of the largest high school newspaper in the state, as well as editor of a local literary magazine, PARADOX. An avid swimmer, Hallie was on the high school swim team and loved being a summer lifeguard and swim instructor. She also had the honor of representing Washington State as Miss Washington Teen and Miss Washington Talent (for performing her original poetry to music).
Her love of animals has kept her an active volunteer in the animal rescue community, fostering and adopting a menagerie of animals over the years. She also serves as a mental health advocate with the goal of eradicating stigma and promoting mental health education, and is a mentor with Chapman University's Dodge School of Film & Media Arts.
Hallie holds a bachelor’s degree in screenwriting from Chapman University, and a graduate degree in psychology from Pepperdine University.
Prior to THE EXPANSE, she worked as a writer’s assistant for TAXI BROOKLYN (FOX), ALMOST HUMAN (FOX), and GRIMM (NBC); and as an executive assistant on the long running CSI:LAS VEGAS (CBS).
A pragmatic psychiatrist wakes from a coma to discover that her fiancé has mysteriously disappeared and that she can now speak to the dead. Struggling with everything she thought she once knew, she’s sent down a dark and dangerous path between the living and the spirits who now haunt her.
In 1909, she was ahead of her time— independent, intelligent, a force; she was a doctor in a man’s world. But this true tale of trusted starvation doctor, Linda Hazzard, takes a sadistic turn. Responsible for as many as seventeen recorded deaths under her care, Hazzard was a sociopath who would stop at nothing, including fraud, forgery and even murder, to achieve her ambitions of health, wealth and fame. But when some became suspicious of the mysterious deaths and her unconventional ways, including a pair of British Heiress sisters, Hazzard found herself in the crosshairs of a private investigator with his own troubled past. Based on a true story.
When sisters are willed their estranged aunt’s eerie estate in the madly strange bayside town of Port Loreley, they’ll not only uncover their aunt’s pernicious legacy and the dark secrets of the town itself, but be forced to face their own ghosts like never before.
A teenage girl discovers she has the ability to become the creatures of her nightmares; but by doing so, she unwittingly sets the nightmare creatures free to roam the Earth. A young writer living with undiagnosed Bi-Polar disorder is forced to face her traumatic past as she navigates relationships, career, and finding purpose.
One roll of the dice would change his life. The million to follow would change the world. For Dr. Rhinehart, dice are the only path to liberation and truth. As he rolls his way through therapy sessions, relationships, parenting, and even a mental institution break-out, it seems sex, drugs and even murder are always an option. Based on the novel THE DICE MAN by Luke Rhinehart.
