Hallie Lambert most recently served as Executive Story Editor on Amazon’s critically acclaimed series, THE EXPANSE, and co-wrote the tie-in graphic novels, THE EXPANSE: ORIGINS. She also served as the on-set writer for her written episodes of THE EXPANSE, exposing her to all facets of television production. Hallie loves the creative collaboration of a writer's room and brings a bright energy and dedication with her. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in screenwriting from Chapman University, and a Graduate Degree in Psychology from Pepperdine University.
A writer introducing new worlds to the same ol’ formulas-- Hallie's a keeper and crafter of timeless stories, who holds truth of the human condition paramount, and folds progressive content into accessible, commercial genre spaces. When not writing, you can often find her at the beach, swimming laps at the pool, or enjoying the sunset with a dram of peaty scotch and dark chocolate. Always searching for new stories, her love of travel has recently taken her to Thailand, Ireland and Scotland-- the later fulfilling a dream of tasting her favorite whiskies at the source.
Hallie grew up in a haunted house on a farm in the Pacific Northwest, fueling her love of dark, genre bending tales. When she wasn’t exploring the woods and getting lost in the pages of her own imagination, she spent her Saturdays volunteering at the local animal shelter and playing the violin in the youth symphony. Writing since she could pick up a crayon-- and selling her stories at the local farmer's market since the age of seven-- Hallie eventually became Editor-in-Chief of the largest high school newspaper in the state, as well as Editor of a local literary magazine, PARADOX. She also had the honor of representing Washington State as Miss Washington Teen and Miss Washington Talent (for performing her original poetry to music).
Hallie’s love of animals has kept her a volunteer in the animal rescue community, fostering and adopting a menagerie of animals over the years. She also serves as a mental health advocate with the goal of eradicating stigma and promoting mental health education, and is a mentor for Chapman University’s Dodge School of Film & Media Arts.
Prior to THE EXPANSE, she worked as a writer’s assistant for TAXI BROOKLYN (FOX), ALMOST HUMAN (FOX), and GRIMM (NBC); and as an executive assistant on the long running CSI:LAS VEGAS (CBS).
A pragmatic psychiatrist wakes from a coma to discover that her fiancé has mysteriously disappeared and that she can now speak to the dead. Struggling with everything she thought she once knew, she’s sent down a dark and dangerous path between the living and the spirits who now haunt her.
In 1909, she was ahead of her time— independent, intelligent, a force; she was a doctor in a man’s world. But this true tale of trusted starvation doctor, Linda Hazzard, takes a sadistic turn. Responsible for as many as seventeen recorded deaths under her care, Hazzard was a sociopath who would stop at nothing, including fraud, forgery and even murder, to achieve her ambitions of health, wealth and fame. Based on a true story.
